Transferring Workspace Ownership
How to hand over your workspace — including the plan and subscription — to another team member.
What gets transferred
Transferring ownership moves the following from the current owner's account to the new owner's account:
- Active plan (e.g. Agency → the new owner now has Agency)
- Monthly report limit
- Extra credit pack reports
- Lemon Squeezy subscription ID and customer ID (next billing event routes to the new owner)
- The new owner's role becomes Owner
- The previous owner is automatically demoted to Admin and remains a member of the workspace
This action is immediate and cannot be undone without the new owner transferring it back. The new owner becomes the billing contact as of the next payment cycle.
Requirements
- You must be the current workspace Owner
- The new owner must already be a member of your workspace — invite them first if they're not
- The new owner must have an active Mavrtr account
How to transfer
- Go to Settings → Workspace → Danger Zone.
- Click Transfer next to "Transfer Ownership".
- Enter the email address of the existing team member you want to make the new owner.
- Read the warning — this is immediate and irreversible without cooperation from the new owner.
- Click Transfer Ownership.
The page reloads automatically and your role changes to Admin. The new owner can now manage billing and settings.
What happens to my reports?
All reports remain in the workspace. The workspace is still anchored to the original owner's workspace ID, so all data (reports, integrations, team members) is preserved. Only the billing and plan move to the new owner's profile.
What if I want to leave after transferring?
After the transfer, you're an Admin. Ask the new owner to remove you from the workspace via Team → Remove, or they can change your role first.
